Invitation to contribute to Latinos In Depth!
Submit your ideas about the teaching of Latino history
I got a query last week from a reader—at teacher in Seattle—who asked if they could write something for Latinos In Depth about their experience teaching Latino history to high school students. And I thought, absolutely, yes, great idea, let me open up this newsletter to high school and college teachers who have something to share about teaching Latino history.
So, if you would like to contribute something here—a lesson plan about a particular topic, your reflections on a primary source, a short essay about your classroom experience, your thoughts about how high school students are changing, and why it’s important for them to know Latino history—then send your pitch to geraldocadava@substack.com. We can have some back and forth about your idea, and I will edit your post.
And a note to all teachers reading this: tell your colleagues to subscribe and submit their ideas as well. I’m guessing you already have lots of great thoughts about teaching Latino history, and it would be great if we could all learn from one another! Looking forward to seeing where this goes …
